Monday the 12th of April marked the start of the Songkran water festival in Thailand. In Pattaya it will go on until the 19th, with the 19th being the climax. If you want to enjoy it now just head down to Soi 6, 7 or 8 during the daytime (or most daytime beer bars). At night go to Walking Street and get ready to get wet. Especially after the bars close around 2am.
Some tips for Songkran:
- Be ready to get soaking wet at anytime. This means if you are in a baht bus or walking on the street you may get doused with water. Regardless if you are prepared or not, or carrying electronics or any sensitive things. Anything not waterproof leave at home.
- Put your phone in a condom. Condoms will be the best bet to keep your phone dry. Nothing is foolproof, but a tied off condom will protect your phone while allowing you to dial through it. Just dont use a flavored condom or one that is heavily lubricated.
- Plenty of pussy to be had but there will be some girls that are out just to have fun. Not all the girls outside will be whores, though most are. So be careful who you molest. The girl might be the girlfriend of some jealous white knight who's looking for a fight.
- Have fun and don't be a dick. Songkran is a time to enjoy wet Thai girls, not go into battle. Avoid spraying in the eyes of fellow revelers and don't intentionally try and cause traffic accidents. There will be plenty of those anyways.
- Water cannons. These are the powerful ones that shoot our a blast of water all at once. Sometimes the police will come around and confiscate any water cannons. Keep this in mind so if the cops come and ask for yours, don't think it's you being singled out. They do this almost every year.
